Robbie Martinez's 5K

Robbie Martinez was loving and kind to all. She cherished her time with family and friends, lived her life to the fullest, and was very strong in her faith. She felt strongly about supporting causes that helped people in need. This year we have selected two organizations to support.

The Kellen’s Krusade Neuroblastoma Foundation is a 501c3, non-profit foundation dedicated to finding a cure for relapsed neuroblastoma though raising awareness and funding cutting edge research. They are committed to supporting clinical trials to reduce the number of children affected by relapsed neuroblastoma, increase survival rates and minimize long term medical and psychological effects from toxic treatments.

This year we decided to support The Beyond Batten Disease Foundation. Batten disease is a rare and fatal genetic disorder that affects otherwise healthy children. The symptoms include blindness, seizures, cognitive decline and mobility issues. Currently the disease is terminal by the late teens or early 20's because there is no treatment or cure.

Bind Up Batten at Beyond Batten Disease Foundation was created to spread awareness and raise funds for medical research to eradicate this disease.

This is Charleston Klein. He is a friend of the family and has Battens Disease. He has lost his vision. With your help we we can help fund a treatment that slows the progression of the disease. For him and all the families affected by Batten.

Please join us to celebrate the life of Robbie Martinez by participating in our fifth annual memorial 5K walk/run. Please visit the memorial plaque at the 8-mile marker on a trail at Kensington in her honor.

Robbie Martinez's 5K is an engaging and fun event, geared towards people of all ages and from all walks of life. We believe that fitness equals happiness, and encourage our participants to challenge their bodies while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
